Haiti News Organizations Reporting

As someone who often derides traditional media organizations, ie, for getting it so wrong on Iraq and the housing bubble, one thing I – as someone who writes mostly in his pajamas – have always marveled at is how some newspapers are able to stay on their feet and keep printing through a disaster. The Wall Street Journal kept its presses going in the aftermath of September 11, despite having its main offices severely damaged. The Times- Picayune in New Orleans was also able to get its issues out (in PDF files) in the days that followed Hurricane Katrina.

Following the devastation that befell Haiti last week after a massive earthquake, some Haitian media organizations are continuing to report. Le Nouvelliste, a French-language daily, is continually updating its website. Likewise, several radio stations are back on the air. And Agence-France Presse is still filing stories from a rented space after its office was destroyed last week.
