) - Rio de Janeiro and New Orleans are famous for their winter carnivals. However, festivals are often held in colder climates this time of year as well.
The Hungarian town of Gyula, for example, holds its Renaissance Carnival every February.
People dress in medieval costumes and parade across the center of the town.
Also, smiths and potters show their crafts and traditional food is prepared during the carnival.
