Say Something Nice About Don Imus Contest
Last week we asked our loyal reader(s) to say something nice about Don Imus.
We're giving away a copy of Soular's new album
Love Crash Heal
-- whose lead singer is a really nice guy, we're told -- to our winner. Here are some of the entries we received:
He really knows his nappy-headed ho's.
He (probably) doesn't spit in public.
He's younger than the Grand Canyon and he's still breathing.
And our winner is ...
He will never have to worry about getting laid by a "nappy headed ho".
About Soular
When you take a lead singer with a powerful voice, a guitarist with unbridled presence,
a talented bassist who provides perfectly-timed rhythmic structure, and a drummer
who forms the essential backbone with enormous ability and energy, you have SOULAR,
a four-piece rock steamroller. Each member is also a songwriter, sings, and has immense
stage presence.
Based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Soular was formed in 2002 when longtime
friends Marsh Shamburger (keys, guitar, tambourine, vocals) and Jared Ashcraft
(bass, vocals) began a musical collaboration. Adding versatile drummer
Ian Byrd in 2003 and releasing their first album, Time and Space, the band
reached a new level of creativity and exposure. Around this time, guitarist
Brian Lee joined the band.
Just as Led Zeppelin's music was a phenomenon because each member's
contribution was a masterpiece all on its own, so is Soular's music.
Separately, the guitar, or keys, or bass, or drums are impeccable;
and together, Marsh, Jared, Ian, and Brian form a collective sound
that leaves you mesmerized with wonder.
Their upcoming new release, Love Crash Heal is brimming with pushing,
driving songs that will keep you in awe of Soular's skills, as well as make
you want to move your feet. One minute you'll be hearing powerhouse rock,
then a beautiful love serenade. Whether you are listening to their albums or
rocking out at a live show, Soular is not to be missed.
