Far be it from Britney Spears to be too distantly removed from the limelight as we roll into 2007. While her soon-to-be ex-husband
faced the prospect of having the crap beat out of him during a wrestling bout in Miami the next day, Britney spent New Year's Eve in Las Vegas, partying down with a coterie of chums.
But Britney did not last too long past the stroke of midnight. Less than an hour into the new year she slipped into the arms of Morpheus and had to be escorted back to her suite.
Britney was said to have been offered $300,000 for serving as hostess in welcoming in the New Year at Caeser's Palace. One would have thought such an amount would be enough to keep anyone awake.
