CHORTLER CHAT ROOM Condoleezza Rice Sees 'Spamalot'
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice
is reported to have taken in the popular
Broadway show “Spamalot” on Wednesday at a
time when hundreds of thousands of people
are still left homeless in the aftermath
of Hurricane Katrina. We asked our panel
for their thoughts on Rice's decision to
go on vacation in New York during this national crisis.
What the heck was she doing up there
in New York City when New
Orleans is drowning? I thought she was
going to come down to my ranch in Crawford
and take up fiddling lessons with me.
Why would she ever do a crazy thing like
going out in public? Doesn't she understand it's
much safer to stay deep underground at a time
when the country is
expecting leadership from those in charge?
What was she doing at "Spamalot"? Everyone knows
"The Lion King"
is the show to see on Broadway these days.
