TRANSLATION Harry Potter Hype Translated
The penultimate edition of the seven-book Harry Potter series,
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, is set to be
released this weekend. In addition to the regular children's
edition, an adult version of J.K. Rowling ultra-popular tale
will also be appearing in bookstores. Our team of reporters
with far too much time on their hands translated some of the
pre-release hype from UK book chain Waterstone.
UK Book Chain Waterstone: The Harry Potter series has
reminded adults how exciting
good children's fiction can be.
Translation: To steal the words of William Shatner:
Will you people get a life!
UK Book Chain Waterstone: We are prepared for large
crowds when our doors open at midnight Saturday.
Translation: Seriously, do you know what happens to
people who start reading this stuff on a regular basis?
They start on a sharp slide downhill. And before you know
it they're writing online satire.
UK Book Chain Waterstone: (Harry Potter) has created a
whole new category of fiction -
Crossover Fiction - appealing to adults who have begun to enjoy
reading children's literature.
Translation: At last people are realizing the
tremendous business opportunities of keeping most of society at a
fifth-grade reading level.
