TRANSLATION Karl Rove Translated
The mainstream media has written precious little this week about
the alleged leaking of CIA agent Valerie Plame's
name to the media by the White House's chief political
advisor Karl Rove. Hence, the satirical press must
fill in the void (yet again) regarding the disclosure of Plame's name just after her husband wrote a column in The New York Times critical the administration's desire to go to war in Iraq.
As with all people about whom there is not the slightest doubt
of their innocence, Rove decided to deny the allegations through a lawyer.
Our so-called reporters with far too much time on their hands
translated what Rove's lawyer, Robert Luskin, said.
Rove Attorney Robert Luskin: Karl Rove
never knowingly disclosed classified information.
Translation: Can Karl
help it if Plame's name just
happened to be printed on the back
of the lyrics of the songs to be
sung at annual Bush administration/White
House press corps singalong?
Rove Attorney Robert Luskin: I am not characterizing the subject matter of (their)
conversation.
Translation: One word. Three letters. Starts with 's'. Ends in 'y'.
Rove Attorney Robert Luskin: Karl did nothing wrong. Karl didn't disclose Valerie Plame's
identity to Mr. Cooper or anybody else ... Who outed this woman? ... It wasn't Karl.
Translation: Oh ... Karl Rove ... I thought you were talking about Denver Nuggets coach George Karl. Wow, now that you mention it, you might be on to something there. Karl Rove might just be the guy who leaked the story.
